Glanbia PLC () is an international food company whose head offices are located in Kilkenny, Ireland. Glanbia is a leading dairy businesses, especially in the areas of cheese and milk production and ingredients.
   The company employs about 3,800 people in Ireland, the UK and the USA. Glanbia was formed through a merger between Avonmore PLC and Waterford PLC in 1997.
   Glanbia produces about 40,000 t of cheese in Ireland, whereas the production in the USA amounts to approx. 300,000 t. Glanbia Foods Inc. has factories in Twin Falls, Richfield and Gooding (all in Idaho) and was the largest cheese producer in the USA in 2006. Glanbia Southwest Cheese is a joint venture in which Glanbia holds 50% and produced 123,000 t of cheese in their Clovis, New Mexico, facility.
   In Suzhou, PR China, Glanbia invested Euro 4.6 million in a new factory for food ingredients .
   The company's shares are traded on both the Dublin and London stock markets.
   The Irish word "glan" means "clean", whilst the word "bia" means "food".
   Glanbia is a company which was founded by the comming to gether of Avonmonor and Waterford dairys
